Now we know...

Charlie is definitely still allergic to milk protein. He had a serving of the Yo Baby yogurt on Friday and Saturday. He started getting irritable Friday evening but I wasn't sure if it was the dairy or the vaccinations he got that day at his well check up. Saturday morning I gave it to him again and then he really started with the excessive spit up and crying. Poor guy, it breaks my heart. I talked with his pediatrician yesterday and he said, we won't try to introduce him to it again until maybe 15 months. He was surprised at how quickly he reacted to it. So now we wait 7 to 14 days for the protein to leave his system and get back to normal.

9 Month Check Up

I took Charlie this morning for his 9 month well check up. He is now 17 lbs and 9 oz and 27 inches long. Tiny, I know, even though he eats more than his big sister! He is in the 20th percentile, but he is following the same pattern Lily did. They are big babies when they are born, then slow down quite a bit until they are one. He is ahead of all the milestones, except that we have zero teeth! I had the opportunity to speak to the doctor in depth regarding his milk protein allergy. Since we found out about the allergy when he was 8 weeks old, he has had no diary or dairy by-products nor have I. ( no cheating, I promise)
We decided to go ahead and try exposing him to it by giving him Yo Baby yogurt and see how he reacts to it. Most babies out grow the allergy before they turn one so hopefully Charlie has. If he does fine with the yogurt then in 4 weeks I can give him cheese. I on the other hand, can not go off the diet yet or change anything that I am doing. The doctor wants everything else for Charlie to remain the same and that includes mommy milk. Charlie can go off of his reflux medication in 4 weeks too. So we are keeping our fingers crossed that our little guy tolerates everything well and is on his way to a giant bowl of ice cream.....and mommy too!

Princess Wishes

On Saturday, my mom and I took Lily to see Disney's Princess Wishes on Ice. We had amazing seats and had a wonderful time. Lily was so excited! Every time she would get in my lap during the show, it felt like her little heart was going to beat right out of her chest. The show itself was really beautiful and engaging. Lily was so well behaved and attentive the entire time. What a great memory!

Weekend Review

This weekend we had the pleasure of having our nephew, Jake, spend the night with us. Chancellor and Lily had fun playing with Jake and watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. They made ice cream sundaes after a big dinner of ribs, alfredo, green beans and yeast rolls. They got along really well and were really well behaved at church this morning.

Travis' ankle is looking a lot better but unfortunately, not feeling much better. He has another doctors appointment in the morning. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will turn the corner and start feeling better.

Today is Travis' sister, Ashley's birthday. Happy birthday Ash, hope your day was wonderful and filled with lots of kisses from sweet Sadie! We love you!!

Update II

Travis and I went this morning to his regular doctor for some more tests. Not too many answers to our questions but 3 more prescriptions and he goes back again on Monday. For now it's rest, and wait and see. Thanks for all of your concern and kind words.

On a happier note, the children and I are going strawberry picking tomorrow if the weather holds out. We are really looking forward to it!

Update on Travis

So Travis lands in Indianapolis yesterday afternoon feeling worse than ever. He leaves the airport and goes to an urgent care facility. When he gets there, they take a look at his ankle and told him he had to go to the the ER because they were suspicious that it was a blood clot. After a few anxious hours we find out it's not a blood clot but a terrible infection. I couldn't figure where or how he got an infection. Travis said last Tuesday at Chancellor's little league game he cut his leg, well more like punctured it, on a piece of metal. He thought so little of it that he didn't even mention it to me and he said he figured it would be fine because he cleaned it and put peroxide on it. Guess not! So after a few hours in the emergency room, IV antibiotics, fluids and pain medication they sent him "home" to his hotel room. He will continue to take antibiotics and just keep watch on it. I can tell you when we first thought it was a blood clot, I was already checking into flights and the weather so I could pack. We are so blessed that it was treatable and nothing more severe. When Lily talked to him this morning she said, "Daddy, is your uncle all better?" We can't wait to see you tomorrow night and we love you so very much!

On the road again...

Just wanted to wish Travis good luck this week in Indiana. Poor guy is traveling with a severely bummed ankle and terrible allergies. No fun at all! Chancellor, Lily, Charlie and I love you very much and can't wait to see you Thursday night. No worries, I know you will be brilliant and dazzle them all! :)

Family & Hair (you know the important stuff!)

So I cut ALL of my hair off on Tuesday, without reason or warning. I am going to post a pic as soon as I can take one that I like. She did an amazing job on the cut, it's just getting used to it now. It is so funny how other people have such an opinion on hair that doesn't belong to them. Overall, I have had positive reviews.

The past three days Travis has had Charlie during the day. I can definitely say, I have a "keeper" when it comes to my husband! He has been taking video of Charlie and showed it to me last night. I love my boys and I love, love that my husband wants to spend time with his children. Strange that I have to even write that, but all too often father's don't take the initiative to make time for their children.

Chancellor had his opening baseball game Tuesday night and while they didn't win, he did a great job. We are so proud of his athletic abilities and drive. I love watching him grow now a days. He is becoming quite the little man.

A funny Lily story. The other night at the dinner table she told me she had been doing some thinking and had decided that she doesn't want to be called Lily anymore, from now on it's Jenkins the Butler! I have NO idea who or where this comes from but I could have died laughing. She really is the light of my life. By the way, we are back to being called Lily again. ;)
