Well it finally happened. Sunday afternoon was spent at Lexington Urgent Care, getting stitches in Lily's forehead. We went to church that morning, came home and as I was changing Charlie's clothes, Lily fell in the hall, hitting her head on the corner of the door frame. The gash in her head didn't look that bad at first blush, but I knew she was going to need stitches to close it. When we got to urgent care, the doctor showed me how wrong I was, when I saw she was cut to the bone. We were praying for the painless, quick liquid stitches, but no luck. Lily was very upset and afraid but did amazing and I am so proud of her. The entire time she was getting the stitches, the doctor, nurses and myself were going on and on about how brave she was and what a great job she was doing and how proud we all were. On about the 3rd stitch, we were praising her and Lily said, "I'm not ding good, I'm being a JERK!" We all started laughing and telling her that she wasn't a jerk at all and it is OK to be afraid and to cry sometimes. :)
I'll take her back sometime over the weekend to have the stitches removed. Hopefully, this will be the last time.

Waiting on 5
As most everyone knows, our daughter Lily's birthday is on Christmas and this year she will be 5. Most people think she must get slighted in the gift department every year, this is not the case! I was talking to Lily over the weekend and asked her if she was ready for Christmas, she said, "Yes I am, but I'm really just waiting on 5!" I thought it was really cute. Her birthday party will be this weekend at The Mad Platter. I am making her birthday cake like always and this year I am tackling a princess crown. Wish me luck!

Pictures from Halloween
We had a great time on Halloween! The kids were precious and ate tons of candy. It's so funny watching Lily watch the other kids and adults, waiting to see someone scary. Her nervous laugh always gave her away. Charlie kept looking in his basket amazed that I was allowing him to carry around and eat, that much candy.

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween (a little early)! The Laffin children, especially Lily, are pretty excited about the upcoming festivities. Charlie is going as a shark and Lily will be a butterfly. The weather is calling for a chance of rain, but we are hopeful it will hold off.
In other news, I leave next Wednesday for New York City. This is my 30Th birthday gift from my mom and dad. Mom and I are looking forward to the trip. I am thrilled that I will get to see my best friend Stephanie, who lives in Brooklyn. Travis will be doing double duty with the kids while I am gone. While I already miss all of them, I can't wait to go. I will posted pictures of the trip when I return as well as pictures of the kids in their costumes.

The Zoo
On Saturday, Lily, Charlie and myself met my mom and my grandparents at Riverbanks Zoo. We had a good time and the weather was great. Travis and Chancellor where camping for the night out at the hunt club. They had a lot of fun too. Please notice that Charlie has learned to say, "CHEESE!"
